Global South Triangular Cooperation Hub

Triangular Cooperation & Knowledge ExchangeMarch 01, 2026Central Europe, Central Asia & Global South

A cooperation platform connecting institutions from Central Europe, Central Asia and selected African and Latin American countries to exchange on adaptive governance, climate resilience and inclusive development models.

Project Overview

The Global South Triangular Cooperation Hub creates structured opportunities for peer learning and joint experimentation between reform-minded institutions across regions. It connects policy-makers, practitioners and researchers who are working on similar challenges but operate in different political, economic and cultural contexts.

The Challenge

Many of the most innovative approaches to resilience, informality, climate adaptation and inclusive entrepreneurship emerge outside traditional transatlantic frameworks. However, institutions in Central Europe and Central Asia often have limited systematic access to these experiences and the communities behind them.

Objectives

  • Facilitate structured exchanges between institutions from Central Europe, Central Asia and partner countries in the Global South.

  • Identify and document transferable practices in adaptive governance, climate-smart solutions and inclusive economic models.

  • Support the design of joint pilot initiatives that connect actors across regions.

  • Build a community of practice that continues beyond individual events and funding cycles.

Activity of the project

  • Curating thematic peer-learning missions and virtual exchanges on priority topics.

  • Producing case studies and multimedia stories that document Global South experiences relevant to CEE–CA cooperation.

  • Designing and supporting triangular pilot projects that connect at least three countries or regions.

  • Hosting an annual Triangular Cooperation Forum to review lessons and plan next steps.
